About Me
About Me..
I am a wife, mother, and experienced professional who has spent much of my life working closely with people as a hairdresser, developing strong one-on-one communication skills and a genuine passion for listening and supporting others through both the positive and challenging aspects of their lives. Over the past 30 years, I have worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds, which has deepened my understanding of people and their unique experiences.
I am a registered counsellor with the Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia, and Australian Counselling Association. In addition, I am currently completing my masters degree in counselling and also provide mental health support to both adults and children for a external organisation.
My background, combining hands-on experience with people and formal training in mental health, allows me to offer an integrated and compassionate approach to counselling. My work is informed by both professional experience and lived experience of trauma, including domestic violence, allowing me to offer a deeply empathetic, trauma-informed approach to counselling.
I work with individuals, couples, families, and young people, adapting the therapeutic process to suit each client’s needs. My goal is to empower clients to better understand themselves, build resilience, and create meaningful change in their lives.
What I Offer..
I aim to create a safe, flexible, and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and personal stories at their own pace. I support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, relationship and intimacy concerns, and I take a contemporary, harm-minimisation approach to alcohol and other drug use. I also have experience supporting people exploring identity, sexuality, and relationships, and I am committed to maintaining an inclusive and open-minded practice. I utilise a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), to support meaningful and lasting change.
